Although the Monroe County Fair may be over, its positive impact on local groups and organizations will be felt for quite some time. Once again this year, HTC was proud to have sponsored Customer Appreciation Night on Thursday evening. This included providing free admission and a free concert. Employees greeted attendees at entrance gates and handed out $1 coupons redeemable at the various select food and beverage stands sponsored by local organizations.
“The entire evening is a celebration of our great community,” stated H.R. Gentsch, President of HTC. “The $1 food and beverage coupon promotion serves a dual purpose as it helps attendees with purchases and it allows us to support so many great groups who work so hard to raise funds for their organizations.”
The Monroe County Fair is a well-loved community event that not only provides lots of entertainment, but also doubles as a major fundraising event for a number of organizations like FFA, 4-H, Monroe County Cattleman’s Association, WSA and more. Participating groups submit the coupons spent at their booths and in turn receive a check for that exact amount. Over the past 11 years, the total raised is over $45,000.
“It’s great for us. We sell a lot of food and French fries that night on account of the coupons. I think it is very generous of [HTC] to do this. It is great for the whole community that someone local gets involved like they do.” – Kerry May, Holy Cross Lutheran Church
“We get a good number of coupons that come through our stand, which is staffed by kids and parents from the organization who help out. Our fair booth is a major fundraiser for us and this really helps us.” – Dan Kennedy, Waterloo Spots Association
At HTC, fast internet, clear phone calls and IPTV may be our business, but supporting the community we work and live in is our job.
